Furthermore, the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā-sūtra says: Because this person slanders the omniscience of the Buddhas of the three periods of time and causes the karmic causes and conditions of destroying the Dharma to accumulate, for immeasurable hundreds of thousands of koṭis of years he falls into the great hells. Such people who destroy the Dharma go from one great hell to another great hell. When the fire-kalpa arises, they go to the great hells in other directions to be born among them, going from one great hell to another great hell. When the fire-kalpa arises there, they again go to the great hells in other directions to be born among them, going from one great hell to another great hell, thus pervasive throughout the hells of the ten directions. Because the fire-kalpas arise there, after dying there, because their karmic causes and conditions of destroying the Dharma are not yet exhausted, they return to the great hells here, to be born here, also going from one great hell to another great hell, suffering immeasurable pain. Because the fire-kalpa arises here, they again go to other lands of the ten directions to be born among animals, suffering the karmic pain of the offense of destroying the Dharma, as explained in the hells. When the grave offense gradually lightens, they may obtain a human body and be born into a family of blind people, born into a caṇḍāla family, born into all kinds of base families of latrine cleaners or corpse bearers; born blind in both eyes, with one eye, or with defective eyes; without a tongue, without ears, or without hands; born in places where there is no Buddha, no Dharma, and no disciples of the Buddha. Why is this? Because the karmic seed of destroying the Dharma they planted was accumulated so thickly.
