暎蔽（上英敬反考聲暉也韻英云傍照也從日英聲經從央作映非也音烏朗反不明也非經義也下卑計反廣雅云隱也掩也史記障也說文小草貌從草敝聲）。

Obscuring (暎蔽: the first character is pronounced *ying* + *jing* in fanqie. The *Kaosheng* states: “Sunlight.” The *Yunying* states: “To shine sideways; it is composed of the radical *rì* (sun) with *yīng* as phonetic.” The sūtra writes it with *yāng* as 映, which is incorrect; that is pronounced *wu* + *lang* in fanqie and means dim, not the meaning intended by the sūtra. The second character is pronounced *bei* + *ji* in fanqie. The *Guangya* states: “To conceal; to cover.” The *Records of the Grand Historian* states: “To screen.” The *Shuowen jiezi* states: “The appearance of small plants; it is composed of the radical *cǎo* (grass) with *bì* as phonetic.”)
