巢穴（牀爻反毛詩惟鵲有巢鄭玄箋云鵲之作巢冬至架至春乃成說文云鳥在木上象形字經從果非也下玄決反說文土室也從宀音綿八聲也）。

巢穴 (Has the fanqie 牀爻 [cháo]. The Shijing says: 'Only the magpie has a nest.' Zheng Xuan's commentary says: 'When magpies build a nest, they begin building at the winter solstice and only complete it in spring.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'A bird in a tree; a pictographic character.' In the sūtra it is written with 果, which is incorrect. The lower character has the fanqie 玄決 [xuè]. The Shuowen jiezi says: 'An earthen dwelling; it takes 宀 (pronounced 綿 [mián]) as radical and 八 as phonetic').
