吠瑠璃（上扶癈反次力鳩反下音离梵語寶名也或云毘瑠璃或但云瑠璃皆訛略聲轉也須彌山南面是此寶也其寶青色瑩徹有光凡物近之皆同一色帝釋髻珠云是此寶天生神物非是人間鍊石造作焰火所成瑠璃也）。

吠瑠璃 (The first character has the fanqie fu + fei [fèi]; the second has the fanqie li + jiu [liú]; the third is pronounced lí. It is the Sanskrit name of a jewel. Some say pilúlí [vaiḍūrya], or simply liúlí, which are all corrupted and abbreviated phonetic shifts. The southern face of Mount Sumeru is made of this jewel. This gem is blue-green, clear and translucent, and radiant; whatever object approaches it takes on the same color. The topknot jewel of Śakra is said to be this gem. It is a naturally occurring divine substance, not the [artificial] glass made in the human realm by smelting stone with fire).
