-ramitā (in the Tang language, "having reached the other shore"; now rearranged in syntax as "reaching the other shore" [daobiyan]. Although the above represents the original and correct Sanskrit, the abbreviated pronunciation is already widespread and difficult to rectify. Since "Boreboluomiduo" has circulated in the world for a long time and is heard by both the foolish and the wise, what is discussed here is done for the purpose of compiling sound-glosses for the scripture, explaining its characters, and interpreting the Sanskrit; hence it cannot but be fully stated. It is solely intended to broaden the learning and insight of students, and certainly not to alter the scriptural text. In subsequent scriptures, where correct Sanskrit and debates over character correctness occur, all follow this precedent; choosing between the contemporary and the ancient is left to the reader's discretion).
