[乞-乙+几]陽 (Pronounced 康 plus 浪 in fanqie. The Kaosheng says: '亢 means extreme; 陽 means scorching heat; 亢 also means drought.' The Shuowen says: 'The character 亢 represents a human neck; it is composed of an abbreviated 大 depicting the neck, with the lower part forming the veins.' The Shuowen writes it as 亢, which is ancient).
