給孤獨（亦義譯也梵云阿那陀此云無親屬巨富多財誓救孤獨時人以為其號古經云阿那邠邸或曰阿藍皆是一也）。

Anāthapiṇḍada (給孤獨: also a translation by meaning; the Sanskrit is Anātha[piṇḍada], meaning here 'having no relatives'; immensely wealthy, he vowed to relieve the destitute and solitary, so the people of the time took this as his title; older sūtras call him Anāthapiṇḍada or Alan, which are all the same person).
