鑽溼木 (the upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 祖酸 [zu + suan]. The Lunyu states: 'Drilling the fire-drills to change the fire.' The Hanshu states: '鑽 is like chiselling sharp.' The Shuowen states: 'That with which one pierces; formed from radical 金 with 贊 as the phonetic.' The Collection's edition writes it with radical 木 as 欑, which is incorrect. The lower character is pronounced with the fanqie 尸入 [shi + ru]. Gu Yewang states: 'Moistened and wet.' The Kaosheng states: 'Damp and wet.' The Shuowen states: 'Dark and wet; formed from 一,' 一 meaning to cover; covering earth while containing water, hence wet; 'formed with 㬎 abbreviated.' In the Collection it is written as the vulgar form 濕, which is incorrect).
