析乾薪 (the upper character is pronounced with the fanqie 星亦 [xing + yi]. Kong's commentary on the Shangshu states: '析 means to split.' The Shenglei gives it as to cleave. The Shuowen states: 'To split wood; formed from radical 木 and 斤.' In the Collection it is written with radical 手 and 片 as 㭊, which is a vulgar character and incorrect).
