讁罸（上張革反俗用字也毛詩傳曰謫責也杜預注左傳云讁譴也方言謫怒也郭璞曰謂相責怒也說文讁罰也正體作𧬍從言從帝從口今經文從適作讁俗字也下煩韈反尚書云刑罪人也說文云罪之小者但持刀罵則應罰從詈從刀作罰蔡邕石經改冈作四改刀為寸）。

讁罸 (the upper character is 張 + 革 fanqie, which is a popular character. The Mao commentary on the Shijing says: '謫 means to reprimand.' Du Yu's commentary on the Zuozhuan says: '讁 means to condemn.' The Fangyan says: '謫 means anger.' Guo Pu says: 'It refers to mutually blaming and being angry.' The Shuowen says: '讁 means to punish.' The standard form is written 𧬍, taking 言, 帝, and 口. In current scripture texts it is written with 適 as 讁, which is a popular character. The lower character is 煩 + 韈 fanqie. The Shangshu says: 'To punish criminals.' The Shuowen says: 'For minor offenses, merely brandishing a knife and berating someone merits punishment; it takes 詈 and 刀 to make 罰.' Cai Yong's Stone Classics changed 冈 to 四 and changed 刀 to 寸).
