紺[生/(丹-、+│)]（甘暗反青赤色也說文帛染青而揚赤色從糸音覔甘聲也從省略也青字從生從丹作𤯞今作青變體也）。

紺[生/(丹-、+│)] (dark reddish-blue): 紺 is *gàn* (甘暗反 [kɑmᴴ]), a bluish-red color. The *Shuowen* says: "Silk dyed blue that displays a reddish tinge; it takes the silk radical 糸 (*mì*) with 甘 as its phonetic, with abbreviation." The character 青 (blue/green) is composed of 生 and 丹, written as 𤯞; the current form 青 is a altered variant.
