摩揭陀（京謁反或云摩竭陀或云摩竭提皆一也西域記說即中印度境舊曰巴連弗邑其地下濕出好粳米無憂王所治之都最多聖跡也）。

摩揭陀 (*jīng* + *yè* fanqie; also called 摩竭陀 or 摩竭提, all are the same; the *Xiyu ji* states that it is located in the territory of Central India; formerly called the city of Pāṭaliputra; its land is low and moist, producing fine non-glutinous rice; it is the capital governed by King Aśoka, possessing the greatest number of sacred traces).
