Liuyong [flowing surge] (the first character is fanqie: li- + -zhou; the Shuowen says: 'The movement of water; composed of water and liú; fanqie: ta- + -gu; liú means sudden.' The Shuowen has lin and two water radicals both following liú to make 𣹳; today the vulgar form writes 流, which is an error. The second character is pronounced yong; Gu Yewang says: 'Water surging in waves.' Sometimes written as 湧. The Shuowen says: 'Yong means surging; fanqie: tu- + -neng; composed of water and yong phonetic').
