窣覩波（上蘇沒反古譯云藪斗婆又云偷婆或云兜婆曰塔婆皆梵語訛轉不正也此即如來舍利塼塔也或佛弟子緣覺聲聞及轉輪王等身皆得作塔或石或塼或木塔是也或曰方墳或曰廟皆一義耳也）。

Stūpa (窣覩波: the first character is 蘇 + 沒 fanqie; older translations have 藪斗婆, also 偷婆, or 兜婆, or 塔婆, which are all phonologically corrupt and inaccurate forms of the Sanskrit. This refers to brick stūpas for the Tathāgata's relics; or stūpas may be erected for the remains of the Buddha's disciples, pratyekabuddhas, śrāvakas, and cakravartins, whether of stone, brick, or wood. They are also called 'square mounds' (方墳) or 'shrines' (廟), which all share the same meaning).
