諠猥(上香袁反或作灌皆正鄭注禮記云諠囂也廣雅嗚也經文作喧俗字古文作叩會意字也下烏每反廣雅猥眾也蒼頡篇頓也說文吠聲從犬從畏省聲也)。

Clamorous and disorderly (諠猥; upper [character] *xiāng* + *yuán* fanqie, or written as 灌; both are correct forms. Zheng's commentary on the *Liji* states: "*Xuān* means clamorous." The *Guangya* states: "Shouting." The sūtra text writes 喧, which is a vulgar character; the ancient script writes it as 叩, an associative compound. Lower [character] *wū* + *mèi* fanqie. The *Guangya* states: "*Wěi* means numerous." The *Cang Jie pian* states: "Abrupt." The *Shuowen jiezi* states: "The sound of barking; derived from the *quǎn* (dog) radical with an abbreviated *wèi* as phonetic").
