Wrinkling the nose (蹙頞: the upper character is j[í]-yù [fǎn], taking the foot radical (足) and qī (戚) phonetic. The lower character is ā[n]-gē [fǎn]; the Mengzi says: "Wrinkling the brow with an aching head and wrinkling the nose (摵頞) as they speak to one another." The Kaosheng says: "蹙 means to bunch up; the appearance of being small." Sometimes written 嘁 or [貝*蹙]; all four forms are identical. The Cang Jie pian says: "頞 means the high bridge of the nose." The Shuowen says: "The bridge of the nose wrinkling." It takes the head radical (頁) and ān (安) phonetic; sometimes written 齅).
