Boots and shoes (鞾履: the upper character also belongs to the category of shoes. The Guangya calls them jiǎshā (甲沙) or gọi (𩌈䩲), which are different dialect words of the barbarian tribes. The Jixun writes [韉-廌+((人/(人*人))/廾)][韉-廌+((人/(人*人))/廾)], meaning shoes. The Shuowen lacks it, and it is unknown which form is correct. The lower character lǚ (履) is pronounced lǐ, already explained previously. It is said that King Wuling of Zhao was fond of barbarian clothing, which has been handed down to the present day to become court attire).
