七竅（谿叫反鄭注禮記云竅孔也鄭注周禮云陽竅七陰竅二說文竅空也從穴敫聲音叫也）。

Seven apertures (竅 has the fanqie 谿叫 [xī + jiào]; Zheng's commentary on the Liji says: '竅 means a hole'; Zheng's commentary on the Rites of Zhou says: 'There are seven yang apertures and two yin apertures'; the Shuowen says: '竅 means an empty hole; it takes the semantic classifier 穴 'cavity' and the phonetic 敫'; the sound is 叫).
