埤助（婢彌反毛詩傳云埤厚也又益也賈注國語補也又亦助也說文增也從土卑聲經文作裨亦通也）。

埤助: [The first character is] bì-mí fan (pí). The Mao Commentary on the Classic of Poetry states: "Pí means thick; also to increase." Jia Kui's commentary on the Guoyu states: "It means to supplement; also to assist." The Shuowen jiezi states: "It means to add; it derives from 土 ('earth') with 卑 as phonetic." In the sūtra text it is written as 裨, which is also acceptable.
