以檛（陟瓜反考聲云檛擊也聲類云捶也古今正字云從木過聲說文從竹作𥬸古字也）。

以檛 (fanqie: 陟 + 瓜; the Kaosheng says: "檛 means to strike." The Shenglei says: "It means to whip." The Gujin zhengzi says: "It is classified under wood (木) and takes 過 as phonetic." The Shuowen classifies it under bamboo (竹), written as 𥬸, which is the ancient character).
