麁獷（古猛反廣雅獷強也說文獷犬不可附近也譯經者意取言辝麤強如獷犬之難近也）。

Coarse and fierce (麁獷: [獷 is] gu-meng fan; the Guangya says: "獷 means fierce and unyielding." The Shuowen jiezi says: "獷 describes a fierce dog that cannot be approached." The translator of the sūtra intended the words to mean rough and obstinate, like a fierce dog that is hard to approach).
