懇切（上肯很反禮記曰稽顙而後拜懇乎其志也廣雅懇誠也文字典說懇切也或作懇從心貇聲貇音坤穩反從豕艮聲）。

懇切 [Sincere and earnest]: The first character is read with the fanqie 肯 [k-] + 很 [-ěn] (kěn). The Classic of Rites says: 'He bows his head to the ground and then prostrates; how earnest (懇) is his devotion!' The Guangya says: '懇 means sincere.' The Wenzidian shuo says: '懇 means earnest.' Or written as 懇 formed from 心 (heart) with 貇 acting as phonetic. 貇 is read with the fanqie 坤 [k-] + 穩 [-ěn] (kěn), formed from 豕 (pig) with 艮 acting as phonetic.
