阿賴耶（梵語第八識名也唐云藏識能含藏執持諸善惡種子故名藏識亦名染淨識或曰阿陀那識密嚴經云阿陀那識甚微細一切種子如暴流我於凡夫不開演恐彼分別執為我也）。

阿賴耶 (Sanskrit; the name of the eighth consciousness. In Tang speech it is called 'storehouse consciousness' [ālaya-vijñāna], as it can store and hold all wholesome and unwholesome seeds, hence the name 'storehouse consciousness'. It is also called 'defiled-pure consciousness' or 'ādāna consciousness'. The Ghanavyūha-sūtra states: 'The ādāna consciousness is extremely subtle; all seeds are like a torrential flow. I do not expound it to ordinary people, fearing that they would conceptually grasp it as a self.')
