諧耦（上戶皆反孔注尚書諧和也鄭注周禮云調也說文合也從言皆聲下五口反博雅耦亦諧也顧野王云耦猶匹也賈注國語對也說文從耒禺聲耒音雷對反）。

諧耦 (the first character is xié, fanqie 戶皆 [h- + -(j)ie]: Kong's commentary on the Shangshu says: 'Xié means harmonious.' Zheng's commentary on the Zhouli says: 'Attuned.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Harmonious.' It takes the speech semantic and jiē (皆) phonetic. The second character is ǒu, fanqie 五口 [w- + -(k)ou]: The Boya says: 'Ǒu also means harmonious.' Gu Yewang says: 'Ǒu is like a match.' Jia's commentary on the Guoyu says: 'A pair.' The Shuowen jiezi says it takes the lěi (耒) semantic and yú (禺) phonetic. 耒 has the fanqie 雷對 [l- + -(d)ui]).
