楣棖（上媚悲反郭注爾雅云楣謂門上橫梁也說文從木眉聲下宅耕反郭璞云棖謂門兩旁木也鄭箋詩云棖門梱上水近邊者也說文從木長聲梱音坤穩反）。

楣棖 (the upper character has the fanqie 媚悲. Guo's commentary on the Erya says: '楣 refers to the crossbeam above a door.' The Shuowen says it is formed from [the semantic component] 木 (wood) and 眉 as the phonetic component. The lower character has the fanqie 宅耕. Guo Pu says: '棖 refers to the wooden posts on both sides of a door.' Zheng's commentary on the Shijing says: '棖 refers to the wood above the door sill that is near the sides.' The Shuowen says it is formed from [the semantic component] 木 (wood) and 長 as the phonetic component. 梱 is pronounced with the fanqie 坤穩).
