法鞉（徒刀反鄭注儀禮云鞉如鼓而小持其柄搖之者說文從革兆聲正作鞀亦作䩞𪔛𪔓義並同籀文作𪔓）。

法鞉 (fanqie: 徒刀. Zheng's commentary on the Yili says: 'A 鞉 is like a drum but small; one shakes it holding its handle.' The Shuowen says it is formed from [the semantic component] 革 (leather) and 兆 as the phonetic component. The standard form is written 鞀; it is also written as 䩞, 𪔛, or 𪔓, all with the same meaning.
