[(工*(几-(厂-一)+手))/心]懾（上曲拱反爾雅恐懼也說文從心𢀜聲也古文作𢖶𢀜音拱從工從𰀁從乙乙音隱經文因草書漸變為恐訛也下之業反爾雅懼也字書怕也說文從心聶也經文作慴非本字聶音女獵反）。

𢀜懾 (The upper character is pronounced 曲 + 拱 fanqie. The Erya says: 'Terror, fear.' The Shuowen says: 'It derives from 心 with 𢀜 as phonetic.' The ancient character was 𢖶. 𢀜 is pronounced 拱; it derives from 工, 𰀁, and 乙. 乙 is pronounced 隱. In the sūtra text, through cursive script, it gradually corrupted into 恐, which is an error. The lower character is pronounced 之 + 業 fanqie. The Erya says: 'Fear.' The character dictionaries say: 'Dread.' The Shuowen says: 'It derives from 心 with 聶 as phonetic.' In the sūtra text it is written as 慴, which is not the original character. 聶 is pronounced 女 + 獵 fanqie).
