獼猴（上弭卑反下后樓反漢書謂之沐猴也說文云獶也此獸種類甚多義己釋於金光明最勝王經中獶音奴刀反）。

Macaque (獼猴: the first character is [pronounced] mi [mi + bei fan]; the second is [pronounced] hou [hou + lou fan]. The Hanshu calls it muhou [沐猴]. The Shuowen states: 'It is the nao [獶].' There are very many species of this animal; the meaning has already been explained in the Suvarṇaprabhāsa-uttamarāja-sūtra. 獶 is [pronounced] nao [nu + dao fan]).
