問訊（新進反毛詩傳云訊問也鄭箋詩云[(大/山/巾)*羽]得生以言問之也劉兆云誠問曰訊說文云問也從言卂聲也）。

問訊 ("to inquire after"; [the latter] fanqie: 新 + 進. The Mao Commentary to the Shijing says: "Xun (訊) means to inquire." Zheng's Jian commentary to the Shijing says: "Catching [a captive] alive to interrogate him with words." Liu Zhao says: "Asking with sincerity is called xun." The Shuowen says: "It means to ask; it takes 言 as semantic and 卂 as phonetic").
