顰嘁（上牝賓反顧野王云顰嘁憂愁不樂之狀也說文云從卑頻聲經本從卩作嚬者非也下酒育反方言云嘁咨忸怩也博雅云嘁咨慙也古今正字從口戚聲亦作㗤[月*蹙]經本從人作傶者非也）。

顰嘁 ("frowning and sorrowful"; the former character, fanqie: 牝 + 賓. Gu Yewang says: "Pinqi (顰嘁) is the appearance of sorrow, distress, and gloom." The Shuowen says: "It takes 卑 as semantic and 頻 as phonetic." In the sūtra text it is written with 卩 as 嚬, which is incorrect. The latter character, fanqie: 酒 + 育. The Fangyan says: "Qizi (嘁咨) means ashamed and uneasy." The Boya says: "Qizi means ashamed." The Gujin zhengzi says: "It takes 口 as semantic and 戚 as phonetic; it is also written as 㗤 and [月*蹙]." In the sūtra text it is written with 人 as 傶, which is incorrect).
