一剎那中（剎那者時之極促名也仁王經云一念中九十剎那一剎那有九百生滅又俱舍論云百二十剎那為一怚剎那六十怚剎那為一臘縛三十臘縛為一須臾三十須臾為一晝夜三十晝夜為一月十二月為一年也）。

In a single kṣaṇa (一剎那中: kṣaṇa is the name for the shortest duration of time. The *Benevolent Kings Sūtra* says: "Within a single thought-moment there are ninety kṣaṇas; in a single kṣaṇa there are nine hundred arisings and ceasings." Furthermore, the *Abhidharmakośa-śāstra* says: "One hundred and twenty kṣaṇas make one tatkṣaṇa; sixty tatkṣaṇas make one lava; thirty lavas make one muhūrta; thirty muhūrtas make one day and night; thirty days and nights make one month; twelve months make one year.")
