Adversary and enmity (*choudui*; *chou* has the *fanqie* onset *qu* and rhyme *you*; the *Erya* states: "*Chou* means an enemy." Kong Anguo's commentary on the *Book of Documents* states: "*Chou* means grudge." This means that the accumulation [of suffering] looks upon the Path as an enemy, because it obstructs liberation).
