欲度溝洫（溝古侯切洫許域切苞氏注論語曰方里為井井間有溝溝深四尺十里為城城間有洫洫廣深八尺也）。

"Wishing to cross the ditches and drains" (溝 [ditch] has the fanqie gu + hou. 洫 [drain] has the fanqie xu + yu. Bao's commentary on the Analects states: "A square li makes a well-field system; between the well-fields there are ditches [溝], four feet deep. Ten li makes a district; between the districts there are drains [洫], eight feet wide and deep").
