廓徹心城（方言曰張小使大謂之廓尒雅曰廓大也通俗文曰廓寬也說文曰徹通也此中經意謂以理融事小遍法界故曰張小使大）。

Vastly penetrating the fortress of the mind (the *Fangyan* says: "Expanding the small to make it large is called *kuo* [vast]." The *Erya* says: "*Kuo* means large." The *Tongsuwen* says: "*Kuo* means wide." The *Shuowen jiezi* says: "*Che* means penetrating." Here the intention of the sūtra is that by harmonizing phenomena through principle, the small pervades the Dharma realm; hence it says "expanding the small to make it large").
