階隥欄楯（隥多鄧反楯食尹反隥級道也王逸注楚辭云縱曰欄橫曰楯楯間子謂之櫺也隥字又作嶝也）。

Stairs, steps, railings, and balustrades (階隥欄楯: 隥 is read 多 + 鄧 fanqie. 楯 is read 食 + 尹 fanqie. 隥 means a flight of steps. Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: 'The vertical ones are called lan (欄); the horizontal ones are called shun (楯); the vertical bars between the rails are called ling (櫺).' The character 隥 is also written as 嶝).
