峻險（上荀俊反孔註尚書峻高大也說文作陖陗高也從阜夋聲亦作埈𡺲下希撿反賈註國語云險危也方言高也說文阻難也從𠂤僉聲僉音妾廉反）。

峻險 (The first character has the fanqie 荀俊 [x- + -ùn = xùn]. Kong's commentary on the Shangshu says: '峻 means lofty and vast.' The Shuowen jiezi writes it as 陖, meaning steep and lofty; it takes 阜 and 夋 as phonetic. It is also written as 埈 or 𡺲. The second character has the fanqie 希撿 [x- + -iǎn = xiǎn]. Jia's commentary on the Guoyu says: '險 means perilous.' The Fangyan says: 'High.' The Shuowen jiezi says: 'Obstructed and arduous; it takes 𠂤 and 僉 as phonetic.' 僉 has the fanqie 妾廉 [qi- + -iān = qiān]).
