嬉戲（上喜其反亦喜音蒼頡篇嬉亦戲笑也古今正字樂也從女喜聲下希寄反考聲云戲謔也悅也郭註爾雅云啁戲也說文從戈䖒聲經從虛作戱俗字也䖒音希也）。

Xīxì 嬉戲 (The upper character is fanqie 喜其 [xī]; also pronounced xǐ 喜. The Cangjie pian says: 'xī 嬉 also means to play and laugh'. The Gujin zhengzi says: 'to delight; with radical nǚ 女 and xǐ 喜 phonetic'. The lower character is fanqie 希寄 [xì]. The Kaosheng says: 'xì 戲 means to jest, to please'. Guo's commentary on the Erya says: 'to play playfully'. The Shuowen jiezi says it has radical gē 戈 and xī 䖒 phonetic. In the sūtra text, it is written with xū 虛 as 戱, which is a vulgar character; xī 䖒 is pronounced xī 希).
