哽噎(古杏反下烏結反氣塞也玉篇云如骨在喉也經文之中有作咽烏見反吞也又音咽咽喉也並非經意也)。

'Choking and sobbing' [哽噎] (Pronounced with the fanqie gu + xing [gěng]; the second has the fanqie wu + jie [yē], meaning obstruction of breath. The Yupian says: 'Like a bone in the throat.' In some sūtra texts it is written with the character yàn 咽, pronounced with the fanqie wū + jiàn, meaning to swallow, or pronounced yān, meaning throat; neither is the intention of the sūtra).
