摩伽陀國（梵語義譯云摩云無也伽陀害也言此國法不行刑戮有犯死罪者送至寒林任其生死又釋云摩者大也伽陀體也謂於五印度此國最大綂攝諸國故云大體）。

摩伽陀國 (Magadha country: the Sanskrit name is translated according to meaning as: *ma* means 'without' and *gada* means 'harm', meaning that the law of this country does not carry out executions; those who commit capital crimes are sent to the cold charnel ground to live or die as fate wills.
