滿足八斛（此摩伽陀國處中諸部之中用於天律以治斗稱餘方不定皆此取則正準孫子筭經云量之所起初起於粟六粟為一圭六十粟為一撮六百粟為一杪六千粟為一勺六萬粟為一合六十萬粟為一升六百萬粟為一斗六千萬粟為一斛此並據佛在世時與周法同若小斗三升是今之一斗也）。

滿足八斛 (filling a full eight bushels: this Magadha country lies centrally among the regions, and employs the Heavenly standard to regulate measures and balances; other regions are unfixed and all take this as their standard. Exactly following Master Sun's *Mathematical Classic*, 'Where capacity measures begin: they first start with millet; six millets make one *gui*, sixty millets make one pinch [*cuo*], six hundred millets make one *miao*, six thousand millets make one ladle [*shao*], sixty thousand millets make one *he*, six hundred thousand millets make one *sheng*, six million millets make one peck [*dou*], and sixty million millets make one bushel [*hu*].' These are all based on the time when the Buddha was in the world, being identical with the Zhou system; three *sheng* of the small peck equal one peck today).
