羂索（上涓兗反桂苑珠藂云以繩繞係取物謂之羂說文冈也從冈絹聲或作罥下桑各反集訓云索繩也文字典說從糸市聲經作䌇誤也）。

Noose (for the first character, the fanqie is 涓 [j-] + 兗 [-an]; the Guiyuan zhucong says: "winding a rope to catch things is called juan"; the Shuowen says: "a net; formed with the 'net' radical and juan 絹 phonetic"; also written as 罥; for the second character, the fanqie is 桑 [s-] + 各 [-ak]; the Jixun says: "suo means rope"; the Wenzi dianshuo says: "formed with the 'silk' radical and shi 市 phonetic"; the sūtra text writing it as 䌇 is an error).
