Balustrade (shun): (shi + yin [shǔn]. The Shuowen says: "A shun is a railing balustrade." Furthermore, Wang Yi's commentary on the Chuci says: "A kan-shun [balustrade]; the vertical are called kan, the horizontal are called shun." In the Yupian, it is in the wood section, pronounced shi + yun [shǔn]).
