Mats and cushions (薦席: the first character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 煎線 [jiàn]; it is a grass mat, used to layer upon a couch beneath the sitting mat to keep warm. The second character is [pronounced with the fanqie] 祥亦 [xí]. The Kaosheng says: a mat or cushion; sometimes written with the radical 艹 as 蓆. The Shuowen says: by ritual, the mats of the Son of Heaven and the feudal lords had black-and-white patterns and pure brocade; derived from 巾 [cloth] with 𢉙 abbreviated for the phonetic).
