苗稼（說文苗草生於田蒼頡篇禾之未秀者也論語苗而不秀曰稼說文禾之秀實為稼莖即為禾一曰在野曰稼也）。

Sprouts and grain-crops (苗稼: the Shuowen says: *miao* are herbs growing in fields. The Cangjiepian says: grain that has not yet flowered. The Analects says: sprouting without flowering is called *jia*. The Shuowen says: the flowering and ear-bearing of grain is called *jia*, and the stalks are *he*; another says: crops in the wild are called *jia*).
