羣萌（莫耕反芽也廣雅始也萌冥昧皃或從民作氓言眾無知漢書氓羣𥠖也古文作氓）。

羣萌 (Fanqie [m- + g- = méng], sprouts; the Guangya says it means beginnings; 萌 [sprouting] has the appearance of darkness and ignorance; sometimes written with the person radical as 氓 [míng], referring to the ignorant multitudes; the Hanshu says: "氓 means the multitude of common people"; ancient writing has 氓).
