指爪（側絞反指爪也有作抓玉篇抓掐也刮也爪之搔物曰抓音莊狡反非指爪掐音苦合反也）。

Finger-nails (指爪): The fanqie is 側絞 [zhǎo]; they are the nails on the fingers. Some write it as 抓. The Yupian says: '抓 means to pinch or to scrape.' Using the nails to scratch an object is called 抓, pronounced 莊狡 [zhǎo], which does not mean finger-nails. The fanqie for 掐 [to pinch] is 苦合 [qiā].
