經（貫穿也攝也玉篇云久也常也經營規求也經里數也法也理也度也凡東西為緯南北為經喻如織也）。
經 (To thread through; to gather. The Yupian says: "Long-lasting; constant; to manage and plan; jīng is distance in lǐ; law; principle; standard." In general, east to west is the weft (wěi), and south to north is the warp (jīng), metaphorically like weaving).
