麝𪏽 (*shèxiāng*, musk; the upper character has the fanqie 常夜 [*cháng* + *yè*]. Guo's commentary on the *Shanhaijing* says: "The musk deer resembles a roe deer; in the pouch beneath its belly is perfume." The *Erya* says: "The *shè* has the feet of a river deer." Guo's commentary says: "Resembles a small river deer; the male has perfume in its pouch, while the female does not." It is a mutually defining character).
