Tigers and leopards (虎豹: for the upper character, *hū* - *gǔ* fanqie [*hǔ*]; it is the name of a mountain beast; it takes 古 with 人 and 虍 phonetic; the sound of 虍 is 呼 [*hū*]; writing it with 中 as 𧆞 is incorrect. For the lower character, *bāo* - *mào* fanqie [*bào*]; it is a mountain beast resembling a tiger, with circular patterns of black flowers, smaller than a tiger; its pelt can be made into saddle-cloth facings).
