偏黨（上匹綿反孔注尚書云偏坡不平也說文偏頗也從人扁聲下當朗反太公六韜云朋謂之黨論語曰君子羣而不黨孔注云黨朋也說文從黑尚聲也）。

Partial faction 偏黨 (The upper character has the fanqie pi + mian; Kong’s commentary on the Shangshu says: “偏 means leaning, uneven.” The Shuowen says: “Biased; deriving from ren 人 with the phonetic bian 扁.” The lower character has the fanqie dang + lang; Taigong’s Six Secret Teachings says: “Associates are called a faction [dang 黨].” The Analects states: “The exemplary person forms communities but does not form factions.” Kong’s commentary says: “黨 means partisans.” The Shuowen says: “Deriving from hei 黑 with the phonetic shang 尚”).
